Great obit in yesterday (Feb.1) NYTimes; really funny.
Some examples:
On herself (She was over 6', redheaded and big boned): "I spent my girlhood as a Clydesdale among thoroughbreds."
On the Texas legislature about to convene, she warned readers: "Every village is about to lose its idiot."
On humor: "There are two kinds of humor: one was the kinds that makes us chuckle about our foibles and our shared humanity. The other kind holds people up to public ontempt and ridiculre. That's what I do."
About former President George H.W. Bush, "Real Texans do not use the word 'summer' as a verb."
She went to high school with President George W. Bush, whom she called "shrub." she called for his impeachment.
